Apple’s Mountain Lion Is Ready For Launch

Apple is again set to roll over with its new Mountain Lion OS (MAC OSX 10.8). Currently it is now available to third party developers as ‘golden master’. You can purchase it for $20.99 and if you want Mountain Lion Server then you need to fuel in extra $20.99. The golden master is reportedly a 4.34GB download.

The New Mountain Lion will be available from Apple’s MAC App Store in some time from now. Now coming onto changes,  firstly Apple has given it the iOS look and features. It is packed with “iPhone-ification” software which will integrate it better with iCloud. Now users can chat over MAC from iMessage which is currently offering its service to iOS only. It will allow users to start conversations on iPods or iPads and then finish or resume on a Mac. Voice Dictation and Touch Sensitivity is also a part of a new Mountain Lion OS. The Game Center is also available to new Mountain Lion users.

MacBook Airs or the MacBook Pro users with Retina display may benefit from Power Nap, which automatically refreshes Mail, Contacts, Calendar, etc to the iCloud. Now it will download updates and back up the Mac using Time Machine when plugged in, all while the computer is sleeping.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing said
The Mac is on a roll, growing faster than the PC for 23 straight quarters, and with Mountain Lion things get even better
