Things you should consider while buying headphone/headset

Comfort : Earphones - Things to consider while buyingThe only way to judge the comfort is to put on a set of headphone for at least 10 minutes. If it is uncomfortable then headphone and its sound quality is useless, so be precise in selecting the type of head phone. Ideal headphone should be light weight and not produce too much pressure on your ears.

 1. Minijack plug (also known as 1/8 inch and 3.5mm): This is the most common headphone connector, now a day’s all source of audio devices have this type of connector jack like mobile phones iPods, laptop, tablets etc
 2. ¼ inch plug: This type of connector is required for connecting headphone to guitar amps, DJ mixers and non portable audio devices.
 3. 2.5mm jack: Commonly used in old cell phonesHeadset - Things to consider while buying

Frequency response: While buying a head phone one must check frequency response which lies between audible frequency range i.e. 10 Hz-20KHz, here lower frequency produces base effect and higher range frequency produces treble sound.

Total harmonic distortion (THD): True headphones have lower THD. Standard THD of a headphone must be lower than 1%; lower the THD, the better is the sound quality.

Impedance: Earphones - Things to consider while buyingGenerally speaking, lower the headphone’s electrical impedance the easier it is to get higher volume, but for higher volume, other factors also come into account like driving power of source audio. To be sure first listen with your head phone. Standard available head phone impedance lies between 16 ohm and 32 ohm.

Sensitivity (loudness): A measure of headphone efficiency in dBs per milliwatt of input. A low number means that the headphones need more power to sound as loud as those which have a higher sensitivity. Typical sensitivity ranges between 90dB – 150dB.

Other points are: A head phone must be durable and portable as per user requirement.

Some of mobile headphones are equipped with microphone and nowadays there is a trend of buying ear buds which are smaller in size comfortable and fits in ear canal canceling noise from surroundings. Please do not use these types of head phones while driving or crossing roads and railway tracks. Explore wide range of headphones/earphones at MirchiMartHeadphone - Things to consider while buying

Should You Jailbreak Your iPhone, iPad, iPod or Not?

Through jailbreaking, we can gain access to areas of the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad that users aren’t supposed to mess with. Typically, this is an immediate prelude to either installing cool programs, unlocking the handset for use with another cellular network, or both. You are able to add additional applications to your iPhone, iPods. It allows you to do so by adding an application called Cydia to your iPod and iPhone. It also allows changing of your iPhone application icons, wallpaper, dock, status bar, chat bubbles, weather backgrounds, keyboard….etc. Now lets see the factors that will  help you in deciding whether you should jailbreak your iPhone or iPod, etc.

Bright Side of the Jailbreaking

Overseas Use
When you use your iPhone in another country, you are subject to data roaming charges. Use your iPhone as you do in its home country. You can use your iPhone like you use in your home country by jailbreaking and then unlocking your iPhone. When you do, you have the option—as you do with many other mobile phones—to purchase an inexpensive pay-as-you-go SIM card in the country you’re visiting. Pop out the old SIM, plunk in a new one, and you’re in business.

Good Apps
The apple app store has many remarkable apps but there are things Apple won’t let you do with your iPhone via apps sold at the App Store.  Although Steve Jobs can project every element of the iPhone’s interface on a big screen, you can’t. Video output on the iPhone is limited, by default, to select apps. This can be done, however, with a third-party app found via the Cydia app. Jailbreaking also lets you customize the interface of the iPhone, iPod and iPad. You can change your Dock, Themes, Live Icons and you can even customize your Status Bar.

Thanks to a couple of iOS vulnerabilities, you can unlock your iOS device simply by visiting with your Web browser and sliding a switch that jailbreaks the device and installs a copy of Cydia. There hasn’t been a jailbreak this easy in years.

 Dark Side of the JailBreak

Goodbye Stability and Safety
While jailbreaking, you may be provided with many options to increase the functionality of your iPhone or iPad. But while going through these options if app or any part of the software crashes down, then you can’t go to Apple for service . By jailbreak, there are many things which require personal information which you would never want to share with anybody and now the phone is more prone to attack. When you jailbreak your device and enable SSH, its more accessible from the outside than it is, without jailbreak.

You Don’t Get to Update iOS
After jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad, you don’t get the iOS update easily. When you update, you lose your jailbreak and you have to re install that and re install all your apps and extensions which are installed.

Your battery life could suffer
Some third-party apps and processes care very little about how much power they pull from your iOS device. If you’re running some of these things on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, your battery could drain in a short order.

Apple and your warranty
Apple says
“It is also important to note that unauthorized modification of the iOS is a violation of the iPhone end-user license agreement and because of this, Apple may deny service for an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that has installed any unauthorized software.”
Anecdotal evidence suggests that if you walk into an Apple Store with a misbehaving and jailbroken iPhone in the hope of getting some help with it, you’ll be politely turned away.

Now finally if you want the quality apps above all your security and support you should jailbreak. If you don’t want to break your warranty you should not jailbreak.

Clash Of Titans: Microsoft Surface V/S Apple iPad

As we know Microsoft has revealed its debut Surface Tablet couple of days ago at Press Event in Los Angeles. With its unveiling Microsoft is now in the tough war of Tablets in which Samsung and Apple are big players. Microsoft’s Surface Tablet Pro is the first tablet which is going to run on Windows 8 and Surface Tablet will run Win RT. Surface Tablet may hit hard against Apple’s iPad due to its beautiful and powerful operating system. We are here to let you know what will happen when it will be launched for public, will it be a hit or flop? We are presenting comparison to better understand this war between Microsoft’s Surface Tablet and Apple’s iPad.

Currently some features of Microsoft’s Surface Tablet is under cover but we will update it as soon we received new information. Let’s start with little information provided by Microsoft to us.

CPU, GPU and Memory:

Microsoft newly revealed Surface Tablet is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 Processor with Ge Force GPU. On the other hand Apple is still using Dual Core A5x Processor but hey have increased graphics memory for better gaming, video playback and graphics work. From here clearly Surface Tablet is taking an edge as on papers its processor is big and powerful that Apple iPad’s but we have to wait for actual numbers. But Surface Tablet Pro is one step ahead of its smaller brother as it will run on Intel’s i5 processor. The initial version of the surface tablet will not feature discrete graphic card. If we keep numbers in mind than Microsoft’s surface is better than Apple’s iPad in this category.

Now coming onto display Apple’s iPad is packed with 9.7-inch Retina display with 2048×1536 pixel resolution with pixel count to 263ppi on screen. Microsoft Surface Tablet display is based on Clear Type HD display and pixel count is 207 ppi. Surface Tablet with Win RT will have 1366 x 768 resolution on its HD display while Surface Tablet Pro will be powered with Full HD display. Apple’s retina display is the main aspect to buy iPad than any other tablet. So from here Apple is the winner.

Build Quality:

Microsoft’s Surface Tablet is 0.1 inch thinner than iPad 3 which is about 9.3 mm thin. Surface Tablet is manufactured from  magnesium shell that they call VaporMg and Apple uses aluminium chassis. The Surface Tablet RT version scales at 1.49 pounds (676g) and iPad 3 model weighs 1.44 pounds (652g). Both Tablets are durable and gives premium look. Surface Tablet also consists detachable Keyboard and stand also. Its slightly sliding towards Surface in build quality.

Only minor details are out till now from Microsoft’s side that Tablet have dual cameras front and both are angled at 22 degrees. On Apple’s side iPad cameras are too good and will give tough competition to Microsoft. As specs are not fully available so this category will remain pending and will be updated when more information will be out.

Microsoft consists by wi-fi, microSD card slot, standard USB 2.0 port and HDMI support. Now Pro version have microSDXC slot, USB 3.0 and a miniDP port. iPad 3 is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 high-speed to transfer at high speed and 3G and 4G connectivity for Verizon/AT&T (American Network Carrires). If we go in detail we find  out that microsoft’s surface have more connectivity options than iPad 3 which makes it the winner from this category.

Microsoft said that surface tablet running on Win RT will be launched first and than Surface PRO will be launched after 3 months of its smaller variant launch. The price tag is also ok for the features which we are offered at Rs.35,000 to Rs.40,000 price tag for the top end Windows RT Surface will be around Rs 60,000 according to rumors. So Microsoft has set a benchmark for the windows 8 devices. Now we have to see which firms are going to opt it and will start manufacturing Windows Tablet. But what’s your opinion on Microsoft’s Surface Tablet V/S Apple iPad?
