Google Chrome Web Store – House Of Web Apps For Chrome Browser

Rather than going to Google Chrome Web Store, let’s first spill out some beans on Chrome Browser. Chrome browser is based on an Open Source Project known as Chromium which was released by Google in 2008. In same month Google publicly released Google Chrome along with support of 43 languages. After its launch, it topped browser charts and in months it plunged to the top spot in the world of browsers. Most of users liked its apps which were earlier present in toolbar forms in other browsers. But Google made it easy to integrate it with web apps which is the main reason behind its success story.

When this reason came under light, Google introduced Google Chrome Web Store - House Of Web Apps for Chrome Browser. Now all web apps are under one shed and users don’t need to crawl here and there for useful apps. According to Sundar Pichai, Google’s Senior Vice President for Chrome and Apps, Google Chrome now has 310 million active users.

Google Chrome Store was introduced by Vic Gundotra at Google IO in 2010. Google Chrome store is now a house of Chrome Extensions, web apps, themes, and other applications. The first batch of Web apps were free Google products and therefore, presumably, free of charge. These include Google’s ubiquitous services like Docs, Calendar, Mail, News, Maps as well as Picasa and Google Wave. But later on due to its popularity various other service providers like Pandora, Zynga Game developers, etc tried their hands into Chrome Extensions and gave users tremendous games which were earlier restricted to Facebook and other portals only, useful apps, etc.

Now you can download or find out various apps for one topic. Now there are apps for everyone for Business, for Education, Productivity, Lifestyle, Weather, News, etc.

In 2010 its user interface was not that good for easy navigation, So, Google updated its Web Store with new User Interface in 2011. Developers are now open to charge for their apps. Now developers can even earn by selling apps rather than only in app advertising. As of now users have download 750 million apps from the Chrome web store.

Due to its popularity and advancement, Google has also introduced Chrome OS which runs on Chromebooks. Chromebooks use Chrome Extensions like software on Windows.

So at last Google has built such an advanced platform for PC and other OS users through which users can do work without closing, minimizing and maximizing any window or file.

Google Plans Voice Navigation in Indian Languages

Google maps has become the life line of travellers exploring new destinations and locations. With the help of Google maps we can explore a big city like Mumbai with ease. Last month Google rolled out the turn-by-turn voice navigation in India and today it revealed it plans on bringing support for local languages in India for Google Maps.

The voice navigation will help the drivers to concentrate on driving and need not look at screen again and again for navigation help and tracking of route. While, it did not reveal when exactly voice navigation will support Indian languages , however it did say that this would happen soon.
Additionally, the company revealed that it is still in talks with the government to bring Street View service to the country, but there has been no breakthrough. Apart from this, it revealed that the Google Navigation package in Android would see further improvements over the next six to eight months as the company collects more data.

Android’s New APK Have App Check Malware Scanner For Google Play

As we know Google last week introduced new APK for Android. But Android Police today discovered that Google has added significant change to its APK. New APK have Malware strings including package_malware_title and package_malware_banner_warning which will ”shut up and download it” button for people who don’t care so much about protecting their devices. Simply Google has taken more steps to strengthen its Android OS security wise also.

The feature also named as App Check in APK will roll out to Android devices sometime in the future, which will help protect devices against malware. App Check will monitor users’ tablets and smartphones for malicious activity to ensure there are no malicious apps running in the background. It will also scan newly downloaded applications and prevent those containing malware from being installed. It will  work with the old bouncer which is a feature that automatically scanned new and existing applications on the app store.

So currently we need to protect our Android Phone Data with some simple and common preventive measures as it will come to work in Android versions after Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Additionally, FBI also warned Android users yesterday, due to its popularity to be aware of some malware that are present in the market.
