Nexus Q: Google’s Social Streamer

Last week at Google IO, Google not only released Nexus 7 Tablet or jelly Bean. There’s lot more happened at Google IO and announcement of Nexus Q is one from that lot more. This was the unexpected announcement from Google’s Side. Actually Nexus Q is the ball-shaped online media streamer. Its about 4.6-inch in size and 2-pound in weight.

By Using Nexus Q you can play movies, music, and YouTube videos through your TV and home stereo setup. To power its own stereo speakers its equipped 25-watt amplifier. To remotely control it via your Android Phone you need App which is currently compatible with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean only but according to reports Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and Ice Cream Sandwich Android phones compatibility will be added after its launch this month.

Nexus Q also have HDMI output, a micro USB port, an Ethernet port, WiFi, an optical audio output, and four analog audio ports for unpowered stereo speakers. There’s only volume button present on Nexus Q. Now, the conflict which is arising is its price - $300 which is much more than its competitor devices. Apple TV and Roku with similar features costs upto $50-$100. So what’s special in this presentation from Google?
