Google Maps Adds Live Traffic And Navigation In India

At last Google has added Google Maps with two much awaited features in India. A couple of days ago, Google Maps added Live Traffic and Navigation features in India. Now users can enjoy these services in India.

Currently Google Maps is offering Live Traffic status to only cities namely Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune. Users can use these services on Desktop or on Smartphones both from iOS and Android smartphones running version 2.2 or later.

To use live traffic service you need to select traffic layer from layers. Going in depth, Red is the colour indicating heavy traffic, while Green indicates free flow, and Yellow is somewhere in between.

Google India’s blog had a post about the Navigation:

It said the live navigation offers directions in Indian accent. “Your phone will announce upcoming directions to you as you move along your route — and it will even use a friendly and familiar Indian accent if you’ve selected the Indian English locale on in your phone settings,” it said.

Here’s video to guide you how to use Navigation:

You can check Traffic conditions by going to or download Android or iOs App for your Phone. Share your views about new service in India via comments.
